We provide acoustic monitoring devices that classify birds and bats on-device to show local people what's happening in their open spaces in real time. We are privacy-first - no acoustic data leaves the device, ideal for populated areas such as public parks and open spaces where engagement with locals is essential, and privacy is essential.
We use on-device machine learning to classify birds and bats from recordings, so no data leaves the device. We use LoRaWAN to transmit the data in near-real time and can collate, filter and display it for viewing in an appropriate format and location.
We've been working with Bristol Wireless to set up LoraWAN gateways on tower blocks in Bristol for community sensor projects, starting with a Nature Listening workshop at KWMC).
Along with KWMC and Bristol Wireless, we are involved in Building Bristol's Backyard Biophilia, funded by University of Bristol's UKRI-funded Creative AI for Social Good programme, which will help us understand what form devices should be in when in public places.
Working with ecologists, we've been figuring out how to wrangle the data into a useful format for validation and reporting.

We are a three-person, woman-led company. Libby is the founder and CEO, combining her 20 years was a technical product manager with her love of the outdoors, to build services and installations that will bring people back into their local spaces.
Susan is our business manager, bringing with her a wealth of finance and administration experience, and her extensive volunteering work at Stoke Park in Bristol.
